As you enter the second year, you will be increasingly led by your own interests and have the chance to explore specialist fields in more detail, such as Psychology, Criminology and Sociology. You will explore the four main areas of Behavioural Sciences – Biopsychology, Developmental Psychology, Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology and Personality and Individual Differences. In the final year, you will tailor your degree still further by taking more specialised options alongside the last core module, Social Psychology, before writing your dissertation. This honours degree in Behavioural Sciences is tremendously flexible. As you progress through the course you’ll have the opportunity to select modules of personal interest. In workshops and lectures you will have the chance to use specialist equipment to measure activity of the cardiovascular system, brain, autonomic nervous system and more, tracking equipment, virtual reality software and statistics software. During this course you will be able to gain experience volunteering in areas such as mental health, forensic, educational addictions and sports psychology, visit professional working environments or go on trips relevant to your modules.
