Berlin Intensive: German for Technicians and Engineers

    About

Discover the work of engineers, learn technical terminology, and experience practical usage: these are the goals of our course "German for technicians and engineers". Students and applicants of technical programmes will get to know the various fields of work of engineers. This course is a multidisciplinary approach to the language of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and mechanics. The training focuses on language-related difficulties that students often experience when starting a technical study programme in Germany. Our experienced teachers help students to gain the necessary technical vocabulary (at a C1 level) for studying automation, electrical and computer engineering, and materials science. They teach our participants how to explain their solutions to typical study-related tasks in German. A range of topics are covered (explanation of technical processes, organic and inorganic materials, calculation with formula in German). Additionally, to improve their practical understanding, course participants will be introduced to technical processes in the fields of automobile construction, communication, and the production of consumer goods. Our excursions to local production companies are an integrated part of the course. These excursions help students to experience the work of engineers in real life. Approx. 16 participants per course (maximum 25) Get an up-to-date schedule of all IIK courses at iik-berlinerid.de.
