    Bioarchaeology

    About

    Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a single- or joint-major Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in Archaeology may graduate with a Specialization in Bioarchaeology if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits:  

    • 2.0 ANTH credit consisting of: 
    • ANTH 2410H: Biological Anthropology: Darwin, Death, and Disease (Sc) 
    • ANTH-BIOL-FRSC 3404H: Human Osteology (Sc)

    Hone your scientific skills examining biological remains from archaeological sites
    • Hands-on experience studying real and cast biological materials from medical, modern, and archaeological contexts to hone your skills in the identification and scientific analysis of biological specimens  
    • Original research opportunities and practical lab experiences that develop your ability to work safely and effectively in a laboratory setting, manage and interpret scientific data
    • Build knowledge about the complex nature of society and how things like culture, ecology, and social organization influence biology
    • Diversify your skill set and increase your knowledge about the various methods, theories, materials, and types of analysis that can be used to study the past

    • If you are not currently registered as an Ontario secondary student, please apply using the OUAC 105 application and refer to the special application instructions below. www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/
    • Domestic students (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents) not currently enrolled in an Ontario high school, and wishing to only apply to Trent University, can do so through the Trent direct application If you are an international applicant or are applying to multiple universities/programs, please apply at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/

    Access Codes:

    If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with access codes (school number, student number, temporary PIN) to access the OUAC site and application process.

    All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC site and will not require access codes.
