    A profound understanding of biochemistry, a good knowledge of physical chemistry, experimental skills and the ability to work in a team are the requirements for the successful completion of this degree programme.

    In the Master’s degree programme, it is assumed that students have a basic knowledge of the English language from the very first semester. Some of the compulsory modules are delivered in English. In addition, optional and compulsory elective courses are offered in English.

    • Life Science (Bachelor of Science)

    For master's degree programmes with restricted admission, places shall be allocated according to the university’s own selection procedure, if there are more applicants fulfilling the admission requirements than there are places available. The exact admission requirements and the link to the application can be found on the website of the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover.

    Graduates perform work at higher education institutions and research institutions, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, related industries and in the public sector (research, chemical analysis, R&D, production and administration). They also engage in freelance work, e.g. as science journalists or patent lawyers.

    The Masters degree qualifies graduates to pursue a doctorate.

    How to Apply

    You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
