    Biological Engineering addresses a wide range of problems relating to the environment, food and other biomaterial production and processing, renewable energy and reusable resources.

    The Biological Engineering program has focused research in environmental engineering and biosystems engineering and has co-operative projects with faculty members in other universities both locally and internationally. Therefore, you have opportunities to take part in research projects that encompass both specific environmental concerns and the sustainable utilization of natural resources.

    Entry Requirements

    Master's degree Four-year bachelor's degree. Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study. Degree granted by a university of recognized standing.

    Minimum test scores

    The Faculty of Graduate Studies accepts a wide range of ESL tests for admissions up to two years after completion. We also accept the completion of the Dalhousie English Language Studies Department course, English for Academic Purposes - Level 2.

    Minimum acceptable score: Overall grade of A- for the course.

    MET
    C1-level and 4-skills test required
    64 (with no skills area below 53)

    IELTS (Academic, in-person and online)
    Minimum acceptable score: 7

    CAEL (In-person and online)
    Minimum acceptable score: 70 with no band score lower than 60

    Pearson English Test PTE Academic
    Minimum acceptable score: Overall score of 65 and nothing below 54
