    About

    Ph.D. in Biological Sciences Overview

Students admitted to the Biological Sciences PhD program typically have an undergraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or neuroscience. Depending on the student's undergraduate education, courses in the concentration of choice are first taken, followed by seminar style courses in which journal articles from the current scientific literature are read and discussed, and students learn from a number of different faculty members throughout their studies. Graduates of this program have gone on to careers in academia, industry, and the government.

The department also offers a Master's degree in molecular biology via distance education.
