    Gail Martin Admissions Coordinator Email Gail The Department of Biology at Belmont University offers a variety of programs and courses to engage students in the process of "doing biology."* Our goal is to introduce students to the excitement of scientific research, the aesthetic pleasure of studying the living world, and the importance of biological principles as they affect the human condition. In doing so, we prepare students for a variety of biology-related careers or advanced studies in graduate or professional school. If you are in the life sciences, then the Biology major at Belmont University is the place for you! The B.S. degree in Biology can be tailored to meet your interests and career goals. Students choose one of seven different emphases within the biology major: General Biology Emphasis: Provides flexibility in tailoring a biology plan of study for various educational and career opportunities. Pre-Health Emphasis: Prepares students for professional programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, nurse practitioner, dentistry, physicians assistant, medicine, dentistry, or veterinary science. Ecology and Biodiversity Emphasis: Equips students for careers or graduate programs in wildlife, natural areas, and research. Marine Biology Emphasis: Tailored curriculum to prepare students for careers or graduate programs in the study of marine organisms, their behaviors, and interactions.     Entry Requirements

    • 3.2 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
    • 23 ACT composite score or 1150 SAT Reading/Math composite score (optional requirement)
    • 3.2 GPA in high school math & science courses on a 4.0 scale (if the applicant does not submit ACT/SAT scores)

    How to Apply

    To be considered for admission to the M.S. with a major in Audio Engineering program, the applicant must: - Complete the online application including an essay describing your background, related interests, and desired outcomes for participation in the program. - Submit your application and pay the non-refundable graduate application fee. - Have official transcripts submitted for all prior college-level coursework and degrees earned. - Secure two recommendations from individuals who are qualified to evaluate your potential for successful masters-level graduate work. - Submit a curriculum vitae and/or professional resume. - Complete an interview with the program director/admission committee.
