    Our engaging biology curriculum focuses on the fundamental facts, theories, and principles of biology, and integrates the experimental design, instrumentation, and data analysis methods that biologists use in research and practice.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    For qualitative purposes, SAP requires a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0. Undergraduate student GPAs are reviewed annually, normally in May after spring grades have been posted, to evaluate eligibility for federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, loans and work programs. Note: Some degree programs may have higher GPA and credit requirements for students to maintain program eligibility. Students should consult the program description in the catalog for requirements of their individual programs.

    Career

    Our Biology alumni have successfully entered many diverse career paths in health fields, including medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Other graduates have enrolled in graduate programs that lead to advanced degrees in many areas of the biological sciences and education. Skills learned in our laboratory courses have led to careers as laboratory technicians in biotechnology, environmental testing, and forensics. One recent graduate works for a company developing patient-specific expanded cellular therapies for use in the treatment of patients with severe diseases and conditions. Another recent graduate is pursuing an MS degree in Imaging & Microscopy at the University College Dublin (Ireland).
