About
- You'll gain knowledge encompassing diverse areas of biology, including cell and molecular biology, structure and function, ecology and evolution and the plant sciences.
- You'll build scientific investigative skills and learn techniques including genomics, animal behavior, biodiversity, population and ecosystem biology, botany and quantitative modeling skills.
- You'll gain the ability to think critically about biological issues and to think about the human dimension as it relates to the biological sciences. And you'll become adept at reading technical literature in biology, how to write about biology and how to develop and present oral, poster-based and manuscript-based descriptions of your work.

English Program Requirements
International students must present a sufficient English language proficiency score to enroll as an undergraduate student.
If the medium of instruction in your secondary school, college or university was English, the English proficiency requirement may be waived. A student must provide a letter from the school’s principal or registrar stating the medium of instruction is English.
Exceptions
All international applicants whose education has been primarily outside the United States of America must provide objective evidence of proficiency in the English language. However, the following exceptions apply.
Career
The majority of our students enter professional school after graduation. Many achieve high-paying jobs in allopathic and osteopathic medicine, as well as allied health professions like optometry, podiatry, and dentistry. Our students regularly score above average in the MCATS and GREs and have an acceptance rate of over 90% to medical school.

The academic report should include a list of subjects studied, a qualitative rating on a course-by-course basis and an overall rating. Emailed copies are acceptable for the admissions process, however official transcripts are required to be submitted to Wilkes by the first day of mandatory orientation.
Proof of English proficiency Financial verificationYou will need to submit a bank or government statement indicating that you or your sponsor have on account a sum of money sufficient to pay tuition, room, board and expenses for one academic year(s).
Passport/VisaYou must submit a copy of the passport page containing your picture. If you have a visa, you may send a copy of that as well.

Wilkes University will not review applications for admission until we have received all required information. You will be notified of your admissions decision one to two weeks after your all information is received and your file is complete.
Once you are admitted, the Center for Global Education and Diversity will assist you in getting your Form I-20 and offer numerous orientation programs, cultural activities and social events designed to introduce you to Wilkes University and American culture.
