    Learning in the field and lab, focusing on local and global biological issues, youjoin our Biosciences team.

    Our Biosciences courses are ranked 1st in the UK for student & feedback satisfaction, and 3rd for teaching satisfaction by the Guardian University Guide 2022. Our Biological Science courses are also ranked 1st in the UK for student experience and teaching quality by The Times Good University Guide 2022.

    Youstart with biochemistry, physiology, taxonomy and the ecology of animals and plants. You can then choose to follow themes that mirror our research specialisms in molecular biology, ecology, global change biology and whole organism biology.

    Youhave the opportunity to progress from field training in the UK to field research overseas, in the Savannah of South Africa, the tropical rainforests of Borneo or mountains of Switzerland.

    Throughout, yoube guided by lecturers awarded for their teaching excellence and media work, and internationally-recognised for their frontline conservation research in bioscience.

    Note that we offer a range of fee waivers, scholarships, bursaries and awards for both UK and International students.

    This course also scored 100% for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2021.

    Study style

    Youlearn through fieldwork, laboratory analysis, seminars, debates and lectures. Around 75% of assessment is by coursework through consultancy reports, presentations, essays, scientific reports and practical tests all with an emphasis on active research areas.
