Overview The Biomedical Engineering students from Gannon University is directed toward the application of engineering and technology to increase the functional capabilities and quality of life for people with physical disabilities. Students will develop the necessary knowledge and skills to gain a competitive edge in the field through hands-on experience in the laboratory and in the community, and while learning various technical skills such as creating 3D-printed materials or learning coding skills to analyze movement of the human body to complete various projects and research.CareerBiomedical engineers work with healthcare professionals to design medical devices and equipment that enhance the quality of life for their patients by applying engineering products and process design strategies to medical problems. An undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering also provides the foundation to attend medical school, graduate school or professional degree programs in fields such as law, pharmacy and veterinary medicine.
