    Biomedical engineering is a relatively new engineering discipline which focuses on the application of engineering principles to human physiology.  Students pursuing B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute can specialize in one of five concentrations: Biomaterials, Biomechanics, Biomedical Data Science, Bioimaging, or Medical Devices.
