    MEng (Hons) Biomedical Engineering

    It is not mandatory to bring your own device for this course, however if you choose to do so please note will need laptop specifications of i5 or above (or AMD equivalent).

    What you will provide

You will need to have basic knowledge in topics such as calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology to understand the fundamental principles of biomedical engineering. It is key that you demonstrate an understanding of these subjects as this will enable you to effectively apply your knowledge and skills to advance within the sector.

    What skills we teach
    The MEng will introduce you to the core principles of biomedical engineering, with a specific emphasis on topics such as biomechanics and biofluid mechanics to help understand the human body and its interactions with technology. We are committed to nurturing your transferable skills, including leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience. Through industry-led practical workshops and laboratories, you will have opportunities to develop these skills.     MEng year
    Opting for the MEng Year provides you with the opportunity to secure a valuable industry placement, enriching your specialised knowledge and professional development or complete a research project with our academics. This experience will give you a competitive edge as you prepare for a career in biomedical engineering. The MEng Year incorporates online modules, narrated lectures, and reflective coursework, allowing you to apply your learning to real-world work scenarios. To be eligible for the MEng program, you must have achieved an average mark of at least 50% in your third year of the program.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    You can apply for a Masters programme with an undergraduate degree from a recognised Saudi Arabian University.

    You should have a GPA of 3.6/5.0 Or 2.7/4.0 overall or above from a Saudi Arabian university. The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Saudi Arabian university from which you have graduated.

    If you are applying for finance, engineering or science-based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

    Aston University is committed to ensuring that every student is fully prepared to take on the challenges of their Master's degree. As such, please note that if you achieve IELTS overall 6.0 (with no more than two bands at 5.5 and other bands at 6.0 or above) or an equivalent acceptable English Language Qualification you will be required to undertake a mandatory timetabled in-sessional English programme to be delivered by Aston University’s Centre for English Language and Communication. Further details will be provided after the enrolment process including timetable and classes you will be required to attend. This is provided at no additional cost.
