    About

    Our Master's programme pursues an innovative, interdisciplinary, and global approach to British and American Studies and Linguistics. Our staff is international and specialises in fields as diverse as literary studies, literary and cultural theory, popular culture, visual culture, gender studies, minority writing, cognition, politics, and history. We aim to provide our MA students with a breadth of comparative training, and a high degree of intercultural competence as well as the ability to integrate multiple perspectives and explore the connections between different genres, periods, traditions, places, and peoples. In addition to seminars, we offer project-oriented courses and, crucially in times of globalisation, work within national and international networks. For instance, we offer our MA students regular international summer schools at Bielefeld University. Through a variety of programmes, we facilitate study abroad.
