About

This top-up course is informed by data science, AI and machine learning. Data science research has impact wherever analysis of large-scale complex data is useful. It enables businesses and policy makers to determine trends, it can be used in disease prevention, preventing terrorist attacks, cybersecurity, combatting crime and in the discovery of new scientific knowledge. You will learn a range of industry specific software and tools such as Oracle, Python (Anaconda Navigator), R Studio and Weka.

Learn how to effectively use business intelligence and data analytics technologies and tools. Focus on current research in the field of computing and digital technologies for business success. Consider the professional and ethical requirements of big data.

The typical entry requirement is successful completion of one of the following:

HND or Foundation Degree in a subject related to computer science
240 credits or equivalent of a recognised UK undergraduate award in a relevant subject

English Program Requirements

You need an overall score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking. An alternative approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) will also be accepted if the applicant’s element scores are equivalent to those required for IELTS. After 6 April 2015, you must take your IELTS exams at one of the test centres listed on the UKVI website.

You will graduate as a technically competent data and information systems analyst with experience of up-to-date methodologies, opening up a wide range of employment opportunities. Our graduates in this area are working as Software Developers and Data Engineers at financial institutions including JP Morgan and Deloitte and software development companies such as Accenture.
