    Contents of the Business Analytics course of study The canon of subjects in the Business Analytics course of study consists of the "triad" of acquiring business management knowledge (so-called domain knowledge), IT technical basics (e.g. programming, data, databases, software tools, IT projects, and project management methods), and knowledge of mathematical-statistical procedures in order to understand, build, interpret, and apply models, algorithms, and applications.This will enable you to use business analytics algorithms, to think data-based and to prepare or make decisions based on data as an executive. Database Management Programming languages Data mining Visual business analytics ERP-Systems Software engineering Data engineering Agile methods Data ethics, law, and protection Analysis of databases for economic potential Target group-oriented communication of evaluated data Implementation of business analytics projects Descriptive and evaluative statistics Interaction of company data and business processes Personality development through self-management and soft skills Course of studies in Business Analytics The Business Analytics study programme is designed in such a way that in the first half of your studies you will primarily acquire specialist skills in the field of business administration. This so-called domain knowledge is necessary in order to build an understanding of the business world. You will need this understanding for the formulation, analysis, and solution of business analytics problems. At the beginning of the second half of the programme, you will enter the field of Business Analytics via the Information Technology module block. In the further courses of the second half of the programme, your skills and knowledge will be deepened via the module blocks Technical Methods in Business Analytics and Application Business Analytics. Especially at the end of your studies, particularly in the courses Business Analytics Projects I and II and Practical Experience and Realisation, you will be able to apply what you have learned in practice. Courses of mathematical and statistical nature are spread over all semesters and support both the business administration and business analytics areas. Goals of the Business Analytics course of study After graduation, you will be able to support companies in coping with the so-called digital transformation, further develop existing business models through data-based analysis, apply modern IT technologies and tools in order to define problems, develop innovative questions and solutions based on structured and unstructured data, and improve the quality of decision-making in companies.
