    Youlearn to motivate people in the workplace and how to influence customers to purchase products and services.

    Youhave access to real-world business experiences and challenges with work placement opportunities to give you confidence to put your learning into practice and gain essential contacts. Students have worked for companies such as Warner Bros, BMW and British Heart Foundation. Youshadow an entrepreneur, work with a corporate firm and gain experience as a shadow consultant at the Growth Hub, our business centre at Oxstalls Campus.

    Focus your degree on business or marketing, or both. If you choose business, youlearn about managing people, projects and resources, finance and HR. If you choose marketing, youlearn how to connect brands and customers.

    Study style

    Youlearn through lectures, seminars, group work, reflective practice, business simulations, problem-solving challenges and presenting. In your first year yougain solid grounding in all aspects of business and marketing including customer behaviour, understanding organisations and the global business environment. Youthen specialise in business, marketing, or both with subjects such as new business enterprise and e-interactivity and social media, depending on your career aspirations.

    Leading international brands and business figures will deliver lectures and give real insight into how to succeed in business. Guests have included Superdry, whose marketing campaigns have seen the brand sell their products to over 100 countries worldwide. Youanalyse real-world case studies, take part in work simulations and pitch your ideas to business experts. In your final year youtake part in an exciting business or marketing challenge with an international or UK brand.

    Successful completion of Thanawia-al-amma with grade average of 60%. Please note that some courses may require higher entry requirements. Applicants are advised to check the course page, and/or conditions stated in the offer letter.
