The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Business are aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. Higher Nationals provide a wide-ranging study of the business sector and are designed for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in business. In addition to the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the study of the business sector, BTEC Higher Nationals in Business give students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training. There is a choice of a full-time programme over two days at College or a part-time programme over one day per week. Both will cover the following core units:1 Business and the Business Environment; 2 Marketing Essentials; 3 Human Resource Management; 4 Management and Operations; 5 Management Accounting and 6 Managing a Successful Business Project (externally set assessment). In addition, there will be two optional units taken alongside the core. Career Paths: Business adviser, business analyst, business development manager, corporate investment banker, data analyst, data scientist, forensic accountant, Insurance underwriter, management consultant, project manager, risk manager.

To study Higher Education at Gloucestershire College, normally applicants will be required to have GCSE English and Mathematics grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent). The College will consider Functional Skills Qualification in English and Maths at Level 2.
The ability to demonstrate the required level of proficiency in English and Maths, through an appropriate assessment at the College’s discretion may be considered.
