    About

    • The BSc Business Economics degree will provide you with a comprehensive and practical understanding of the economic decisions faced by businesses, as well as the ability to analyse the economic and social environment in which these decisions are taken
    • You will develop key skills in economics, accounting and management and combine these with the application of skills to the solution of many interacting problems that face business managers
    • This flexible degree programme will appeal to anyone interested in applying the principles of economics to a career in business, who is not looking for a high mathematical component to their degree
    • The ability to take modules outside the Economics department gives you the opportunity to broaden your perspective and demonstrate insight into a number of areas
    • First year modules provide a solid background in economics and management, while your second and final years are more flexible, allowing you to tailor your degree according to your interests

    The modules offered include topics you must have knowledge of in order to succeed in senior positions, whether in private practice, corporate or public employment – including international trading companies and law firms, chartering, trade, and marine insurance, the European Commission, the European Court of Justice, or the Governments of EU Member States.

    You will gain invaluable experience in finding out the law from the original sources; in preparing and producing extended legal writing; and in presenting a legal proposition briefly and succinctly to an audience.

    Graduate destinations

    LLM graduates either continue on the academic path and pursue their studies with a PhD; others go into private practice, corporate or public employment – including international trading companies and law firms, chartering, trade, and marine insurance, the European Commission, the Governments of EU Member States as well as international and regional courts and/or organisations or NGOs.

    Students of the LLM Law and Business can also go onto employment or further their careers in the business world. Students will also acquire the necessary tools should they want to set up their own businesses. Overall, the wealth of knowledge and transferable skills gained with the LLM Law and Business will allow students to pursue employment in a wide range of careers including:

    • Senior legal positions, whether in private practice, corporate or public employment – including international trading companies and law firms, chartering, trade, and marine insurance, the European Commission, or the Governments of EU Member States.

    • General management and leadership positions across all market sectors, such as Graduate Manager, Management Consultant, Business Development Manager, Operations Manager, Project manager.
