Business Management (Modern Languages), BSc (Hons) ,With Year Abroad

This degree is ideal for those who have an interest in both business management and modern languages. It encompasses essential aspects of business and management, while also giving you the opportunity to acquire competence in a modern language. In the first year, you will explore various languages through taster sessions, allowing you to experience Mandarin, French, Italian, German, and Spanish before selecting one language as your focus. During the second and third years of your study, you will focus on one selected language. In the second year, you will follow Beginners’ language modules, while in the third year, you'll advance to the intermediate level. As your studies progress you will also learn how to use your foreign language in a professional environment. The BSc Business Management degree at Swansea University is the most established programme within the School of Management, known for producing highly skilled and commercial thinking business managers. Graduates have gone on to work for the world’s biggest brands including Shell UK, Marks & Spencer, Bloomberg and Tata. Upon completing this degree programme, you will be fully prepared to commence your journey as a global citizen, equipped with the potential to pursue numerous diverse roles spanning a wide range of industries and public services. Please note: Year one of studies will be taught at the School of Management on Bay Campus, with your second and third years taught across Singleton and Bay Campus.

A-level Qualification
Offers for programmes in the School of Management are usually within the range of ‘ABB-BBB’ or equivalent.

All applications are considered on an individual basis, with GCSE grades, AS Level subjects and grades, work experience, references and personal statement taken into account.

Variable offers are made dependent on subjects studied.

No A-level in Business, Economics, Maths, Modern Foreign Language or Accounting/Finance is required. Students may combine A-levels with other qualifications below. GCSE Maths and English minimum C grade is also required.

A GCSE at minimum grade C (4) in a modern foreign language is preferable but not essential.
All language applications will be considered on merit.

International Baccalaureate
The School of Management will make offers to students with predicted (or achieved) IB of 32-33 or higher.

BTEC (18-unit)
The School of Management will make offers to students with predicted (or achieved) BTEC results of DDM or better.

English Language
Non-native English speakers must achieve 6.0 overall with no component less than 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent tests.

For students who fall short of only the English language requirement we offer a range of pre-sessional training programmes that you may take before starting your degree programme.

Foundation Year options: BSc Business Management (Modern Lanuages) with a Foundation Year
