    About

Along with theoretical business knowledge, our Business Management degree
  • Tailor your degree in the direction you want your career to go: In Years One and Two core modules provide a solid foundation of knowledge. As you progress, you can select modules that particularly interest you, or opt for a specialist degree route (eg Digital Marketing or Analytics).
  • Workplace experience: All of our Business Management routes include workplace experience.
  • Gain great industry insights and contacts: You will gain insights into high-profile companies such as Bacardi, Social Bite, Skyscanner, Google and Edinburgh Airport, whose representatives have joined us as visiting speakers recently.
  • Excellent support from staff: Smaller than average class sizes mean you will get close support and guidance from staff who get to know you. We will help you develop your passion, ranging from supporting student start-ups in our Business Innovation Zone to helping you pick the right dissertation project to kickstart your career.
  • Staff expertise: You will be taught by staff who are active researchers, and who share the latest research insights in their teaching.
  • Stimulating learning environment: Benefit from a variety of learning experiences such as lectures, seminars, workshops, field trips, exchanges**, guest lectures from a range of practitioners and visiting professors. Some of our modules focus on group work to develop team-working skills and others focus on you as the individual.
  • Gain in-demand practical skills: Our courses are designed to ensure you graduate with a range of transferable business skills that are highly sought after by employers.
  • You will complete a  placement in Year Four.

Placements are an excellent opportunity to put your learning into practice.

Students are responsible for sourcing a placement host organisation, which can be in the UK or abroad. We support students to find a placement host.

Applying For an Undergraduate Course Through UCAS

All undergraduate applications are made through UCAS.

    Visit the UCAS website

    What is UCAS?

UCAS is the organisation that processes applications to study full-time courses at universities and colleges in the UK.

At UCASyou will find guidance on choosing the right course, completing your online application, tracking your application and funding your course.

Once you have applied, you will be able to track the progress of your application through UCAS track. The status of your application will be updated with the decision made by your university.

    Key UCAS dates:

    • Mid September - Applications can be submitted to UCAS.
    • 26 January (18:00 UK time) – Deadline for applications to QMU courses*
    • 25 February – Extra opens
    • 4 July– Extra closes
    • July to August – Clearing

*If you’re applying through schools or colleges, sometimes you will be given an earlier deadline to fill in your application – this is to make sure they can write your reference and send your application to UCAS on time.

    UCAS Extra

If the applications you have made for your chosen courses are unsuccessful, you could apply for other courses through UCAS Extra.

UCAS Extra is an opportunity for you to consider another course, even a different subject, without waiting for Clearing.

    To be eligible for Extra:

    • All five choices must have been used
    • Your must have no offers or declined any offers you have received

    Clearing

If you do not get the qualifications needed to meet the conditions of your offer or you do not receive any offers though UCAS or UCAS Extra, you can look for places through Clearing.

Clearing is a chance for students to look for a place if they don’t have one. It’s also the final chance for universities to fill any places they still have available.

To look for a course in Clearing you must first be eligible. This means that either:

    • You have no offers
    • Your firm or insurance universities have confirmed your application has been unsuccessful
