    Advance your career by studying on Saturdays for a fast-track degree Whether you are looking to reach the next step in your career, change careers or just finally earn a degree, our fast-track course gives you the flexibility to combine your studies alongside your other commitments - whether that's a job or other responsibilities. With the BA (Hons) Business Studies (Saturday study fast-track) you will study on Saturdays only and will graduate with a business degree in just under three years. You will be studying the same course content as full-time students and will be supported throughout your course with 24/7 access to our virtual learning environment and library facilities. Our extremely high retention and success rates testify to the academic support, the high-quality teaching and learning, we provide to our Saturday students. This degree will help you to face the challenges of business management with more confidence and to develop your knowledge and professional skills in business. This course will give you an up-to-date, real-world understanding of business management to enhance your career. You will learn from teaching staff with high levels of expertise in a range of business sectors and benefit from our links with professional bodies. We have strong links with major professional institutes, including the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Management Institute, the Institute of Data and Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Personnel.
    This internationally respected BA Business Studies course has been designed to develop your practical skills as well as your knowledge of essential business concepts. Your studies will give you a rounded understanding of the varied requirements of running a business. You will cover topics including: human resource management finance and accounting marketing operations management ICT Our strong links help us to evolve and advance your course content, so that you will graduate with current knowledge of business issues. You will also gain full exemption for the academic requirements of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), a valuable qualification for any aspiring manager. We use a range of effective teaching methods, including: lectures to introduce new concepts, models and theories task-based learning to develop your problem-solving skills and help you to relate theory to practice group work to encourage you to share ideas and experiences discussion and reflection to encourage inquiry seminar support, available through group and individual tutorials by arranged appointment Blackboard, the University's online learning platform Each member of staff brings a wealth of employment experience and knowledge into the classroom, helping you to translate theory into practice.

    Entry Requirements

    Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry on an undergraduate degree:

    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma (from a minimum 25 points depending on course)
    • Diploma from community college, Intermediate Diploma or Associate Degree (Pass with 60%).
    • British/International A Levels (from a minimum 112 UCAS tariff points depending on course)
    • Second and final year entry of a bachelor's degree may be available for those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) from the UK with a merit profile

    English Program Requirements

    You need to meet our English language requirement - a minimum of IELTS 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). We also accept other English language examination equivalents. Contact our International Office to find out more. You also need academic qualifications at the same level as UK applicants. In some countries where teaching is in English, we may accept local qualifications. Check for local equivalents. We offer pre-sessional English language courses if you do not meet these requirements. Our application form will ask you for some information about your previous qualifications or experience, references, and how we can contact you. In addition, you are required to submit a start-up idea pitch. This 500-word (max) document should clearly outline the following three aspects: a brief description of your business idea that you want to further develop during your MA studies in what capacity you have worked on the business idea so far (eg has this developed from your final year project during your undergraduate degree? Are you running the business already out of your living room? etc) where you expect the business to go by the end of the MA programme (specific objectives for the 12 month period). Please upload this document along with your online application. Based on your application form and the start-up idea pitch, you will be invited to attend a telephone interview.
