    Overview

    • Department of Classics – 1st in the UK for research (REF 2021). Our research environment judged to set the standard for rest of UK, and 100 per cent of our research environment and impact was recognised as either ‘world leading (4*) or ‘internationally excellent (3*)
    • Research income: We attract grants from AHRC, Leverhulme, ESRC, charitable institutions in Greece and Cyprus and other funding bodies. Recently our InsAph project has attracted £305,000 (AHRC), our Prosopography of medieval Arabic sources, £124,000 (Leverhulme).

    Postgraduate taught courses

    Applicants who have completed a Bachelor degree from a recognised institution in Jordan will need to demonstrate the following grades to be considered for a Postgraduate course at King's:

    UK degree classification Jordanian equivalency

    High 2:1 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree

    (equivalent to 65% overall)

    GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0

    Overall score of 80%

    2:1 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree

    GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0

    Overall score of 75%

    High 2:2 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree

    GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0

    Overall score of 70%

    Postgraduate research courses

    A Master's degree from a recognised university with high grades considered for programmes requiring a UK Master's degree.
