    Biology Whether students want to be a medical doctor, veterinarian, life sciences researcher or are simply interested in how living organisms work, the Biology major is probably the right choice! A major in Biology is designed to give students a broad introduction to the many areas of biological sciences. By combining excellence in research with a deep commitment to education, students are prepared for successful entry into the workforce with a career in health sciences, industrial or research areas. Experiential Learning and active research are just two of the ways your experience at Rutgers'Camden will make students stand out. The Biology department offers a wide range of lecture, laboratory, seminar and independent research courses. The curriculum not only provides students with facts and concepts in biology, but also emphasizes analytical skills and scientific reasoning. Looking to get into medical school? Students who complete a Biology major will also have fulfilled the minimum requirements for Pre-Medicine, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, and Pre-Dentistry.

    Entry Requirements

    Students currently studying in the United States are not eligible for the RU-PATH program. If a student is currently studying in a U.S. high school, he/she should for regular admission to a Rutgers degree program.

    English Program Requirements

    Regardless of U.S. residency status, an English proficiency examination is required of all students whose secondary schooling has been outside the U.S. in a country where English is not the principal language. Score reports must be from tests taken within the past two years and submitted directly to us from the testing service.

    Please note: Students who have earned a grade of B or better in a college-level English Composition course at an accredited U.S. college (not a foreign affiliate) are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement. English courses that are designated ESL, non-native, or which require a special support component, or any courses taken outside the US, are not acceptable. Please also note that Rutgers does not accept correspondence or online courses for the language proficiency requirement.
