    MEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering

    Chemical Engineering MEng course at Aston is based on an advanced curriculum, practical experiences, world-class facilities and strong industry connections. The course extends all the important knowledge and skills introduced by our BEng program, thus offering an even broader-based qualification and a wider range of career options.

    What we will provide
    First-class teaching in the UK's second-largest city, delivered by academics and researchers, who will bring the subject to life. Access to the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI), one of the world’s leading renewable energy research centers, which you can utilise for your MEng major project research, in the final year of your course. Use of world-class facilities for practical (process) labs and computer sessions, with access to simulation packages relevant in chemical engineering.

    It is not mandatory to bring your own device for this course, however if you choose to do so please note will need laptop specifications of i5 or above (or AMD equivalent).

    What you will provide
    It is important to have a reflective nature and show resilience, as in chemical engineering, every experiment, calculation, failure, and success is a lesson.     What skills we teach
    Our MEng Chemical Engineering programme prides itself on offering a cutting-edge curriculum that reflects the latest advancements in Chemical Engineering. You will develop fundamental and advanced knowledge in chemical engineering, hands on practical lab skills, hardware skills which will be put to the test by creating a rig, IT and software skills which will be used for process simulation and design.     *This programme is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). As part of the standard process, it is currently undergoing re-accreditation, with confirmation expected before September 2025.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    You can apply for a Masters programme with an undergraduate degree from a recognised Saudi Arabian University.

    You should have a GPA of 3.6/5.0 Or 2.7/4.0 overall or above from a Saudi Arabian university. The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Saudi Arabian university from which you have graduated.

    If you are applying for finance, engineering or science-based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

    Aston University is committed to ensuring that every student is fully prepared to take on the challenges of their Master's degree. As such, please note that if you achieve IELTS overall 6.0 (with no more than two bands at 5.5 and other bands at 6.0 or above) or an equivalent acceptable English Language Qualification you will be required to undertake a mandatory timetabled in-sessional English programme to be delivered by Aston University’s Centre for English Language and Communication.
