    We understand that some schools are using the pass/fail grading system. When reviewing applications, our admissions team is reading your application holistically. We look at course load, course type, letters of recommendation, and all four years of high school to gain a better academic picture of the applicant. Pass/fail will not negatively impact your application to Clarkson!

    Our graduates have gone on to a wide range of graduate programs, from a business-oriented MBA programs, to science- or environmental-oriented MS and/or PhD programs, to MD and similar healthcare programs. Clarkson offers a Master of Arts in Teaching program, several MS and PhD programs in the sciences and environmental sciences (including Chemistry), a range of MBA programs and three healthcare programs - Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies.     Step Two

    These application instructions are for non-U.S. citizens applying for first-year enrollment at Clarkson. If you have already earned some university credit, you should apply as a transfer student. To review your application, we need to receive all of the following materials and information according to Clarkson’s admission dates and deadlines:

    • Clarkson University Freshman Application or Common App 
    • Official secondary school transcript, mark sheets, or national exam scores.
    • Two letters of recommendation.
    • Test Optional-Official SAT/ACT scores, if submitted the scores will be taken into consideration during the admissions process.

    • Official English proficiency test scores. Here is the link for countries with English testing waivers. Acceptable tests and minimum scores are:
      • TOEFL, 80
      • IELTS, 6.5
      • Duolingo English Test, 105

    Step Three

    Applicants for admission who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents (green card holders) are likely to need to secure a student visa. (Students on certain visas may not require a student visa; please refer to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program document Who Can Study?)

    For issuance of an I-20, students must show proof of financial support. There are two ways to show proof of finances:

    1. Complete and return the Certificate of Finance Form included in our application packet or downloadable from our Web site. On this form you will need to show specific amounts of support and the sources of the support. You will also need to include the signatures of any sponsors or your parents, in addition to a signature from a bank official; or
    2. Provide a certified letter from your sponsor indicating the amount of support available for each year along with a supporting letter from a bank official.
