    Biomedical Engineering Have an interest in designing prostheses, artificial organs, or pharmaceutical products? Biomedical engineers invent the devices and equipment that drive medical advances and directly improve the quality of life for millions of people. Biomedical engineers have a unique way of seeing and solving challenges as they work in collaboration with diverse teams that include medical professionals and scientists, as well as mechanical and electrical engineers, among others. They also design and manufacture diagnostic and therapeutic devices and imaging equipment that give doctors and medical researchers the tools to identify and treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries. Your program will include: Courses in engineering, physics, chemistry, math, biology, bioengineering, and numerous electives Well-designed lab experiences Summer industrial internships Capstone senior-year independent design project that emphasizes technical writing and oral communication

    Entry Requirements

    Students currently studying in the United States are not eligible for the RU-PATH program. If a student is currently studying in a U.S. high school, he/she should for regular admission to a Rutgers degree program.

    English Program Requirements

    Regardless of U.S. residency status, an English proficiency examination is required of all students whose secondary schooling has been outside the U.S. in a country where English is not the principal language. Score reports must be from tests taken within the past two years and submitted directly to us from the testing service.

    Please note: Students who have earned a grade of B or better in a college-level English Composition course at an accredited U.S. college (not a foreign affiliate) are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement. English courses that are designated ESL, non-native, or which require a special support component, or any courses taken outside the US, are not acceptable. Please also note that Rutgers does not accept correspondence or online courses for the language proficiency requirement.
