About

The GÃ¶ttingen Master's programme in Chemistry exposes students to chemistry and all of its facets. The programme is strongly research-oriented, and it offers an optimal basis for a doctorate. From the wide range of courses, students can put together their own course of study and are able to choose their own individual focal points. The choices range from a broad overview of chemistry to specific focal points, e.g. in Sustainable Chemistry, BiomolecularÂ Chemistry, or Theoretical Chemistry. Students may also focus on methodological questions.

For details on the requirements for application and on the selection procedure, please consult the admission rules and regulations ("Ordnung Ã¼ber die Zugangsvoraussetzungen und Ã¼ber die Zulassung fÃ¼r den Master-Studiengang Chemie"), which is currently only available in German. Please feel free to contact us if you need advice. Short overview: You can apply for admission to the Masterâ€™s programme if you have successfully completed a Bachelorâ€™s degree (at least six semesters) in chemistry and obtained 180 credits. Alternatively, undergraduates can apply as soon as they have obtained at least 150 credits. If the subject of theÂ Bachelorâ€™s degree was not chemistry, the equivalence will be checked by our selection committee. International applicants have to submit proof of sufficient knowledge of German (DSH 2 level) or English (C1 level). If there are twice as many applicants as there are spaces, a selection interview will take place. If there are less or equal as many applicants as spaces, no selection interviews will be conducted.
