    Biotechnology The biotechnology curriculum is designed to provide you with fundamental knowledge and laboratory skills in biotechnology, including molecular biology, and a firm foundation in biology and the physical sciences. The strong life and physical sciences foundation of the curriculum involves extensive laboratory, coursework, and research experience. A unique and important aspect of Rutgers’ biotechnology program is the interface with the biotechnology industry. Biotechnology has emerged as a major contributor to the advancement of agriculture, medicine, and environmental sciences. It has developed as a result of the convergence of biological, physical, and mathematical sciences. Rutgers University'New Brunswick has been at the forefront of this biotechnological revolution over the past several decades. Rutgers was one of the first universities to offer a major in biotechnology, and has received national recognition as a model biotechnology curriculum.

    Entry Requirements

    Students currently studying in the United States are not eligible for the RU-PATH program. If a student is currently studying in a U.S. high school, he/she should for regular admission to a Rutgers degree program.

    English Program Requirements

    Regardless of U.S. residency status, an English proficiency examination is required of all students whose secondary schooling has been outside the U.S. in a country where English is not the principal language. Score reports must be from tests taken within the past two years and submitted directly to us from the testing service.

    Please note: Students who have earned a grade of B or better in a college-level English Composition course at an accredited U.S. college (not a foreign affiliate) are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement. English courses that are designated ESL, non-native, or which require a special support component, or any courses taken outside the US, are not acceptable. Please also note that Rutgers does not accept correspondence or online courses for the language proficiency requirement.
