About

The department's curricula provide solid disciplinary training, preparing students to meet the challenges in future graduate studies or in career development.

Chinese language courses develop advanced communication skills through intensive language training, and provide a foundation for understanding cultural traditions of China. The literature in translation courses aim to foster an awareness and understanding of East Asian cultures through an interdisciplinary approach, introducing historical background; social, philosophical and political issues.

Entry Requirements

Submit official results of the TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or Cambridge English: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency exams. W&L does not accept self-reported scores on these exams.
Submit self-reported or official results from the writing section of the SAT or ACT.
Complete an interview with InitialView, Vericant, or Duolingo.
