    About

PSU Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science

A master's or doctorate degree in civil and environmental engineering at Portland State University is your first step toward furthering your career as a professional engineer. Break the mold and improve the lives of others with an advanced degree and modern technical training in civil and environmental engineering.

Our graduate programs offer research specializations that lead to real-world impacts in structural, geotechnical, environmental and water resources, and transportation. Our flexible curriculum allows students to select courses outside the major to tailor a degree to their interests, and our robust research activities fund many graduate research and teaching assistants in support of our mission. Graduates may count their degree towards the professional experience requirements for licensure (typically up to 1-year credit).

We also offer a coursework-only Master of Engineering degree for working professional students who are less invested in a research experience.

Expert faculty in our program bring the best research and real-life perspectives into the classroom and challenge your curiosity to go beyond it. Graduates of our program form a strong alumni network, with many of them in leadership positions in the Oregon engineering community. Take your first step toward building a better future for yourself and your community.
