This part-time course presents applicants with an opportunity to develop their mathematical and analytical skills to solve many of the problems encountered in the broader civil engineering industry. It is particularly aimed at mature applicants who currently work in the industry and wish to upskill, change careers or gain formal qualifications.

Each year of this part-time course is delivered over two 13-week semesters with examinations at the end of each semester.

The Higher Certificate is achieved upon successful completion of 3 years part-time study (24 modules). Successful students then have the opportunity to transfer to the Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering Technology Ordinary Degree which can be achieved with an additional 2 years of part-time study.

TU Dublin operates a ladder system which allows students to progress through Level 6, 7, 8 and 9 (Masters Degree) and many of our students go on to successfully graduate with Honours Degrees in Civil or Structural Engineering.
