    Overview Basic Degree Information/DescriptionThis clinical program emphasizes creativity, diversity, developmental and relational processes, ethics, and professional identity within Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Students may earn credit toward a state license and/or certification to practice in clinical settings (i.e., Licensed Professional Counselor, etc.). The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program of The University of Texas at San Antonio is designed for students who wish to become mental health counselors and meet the curricular requirements for state of Texas counselor licensure (Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC). This program requires 60 semester hours that includes 700 hours of practicum and internship.
