    About

    The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers clinical programs in the fields audiology and speech-language pathology. The Master of Clinical Science (MCISc) degree in the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology are awarded upon successful completion of a two-year curriculum, over six consecutive terms, which includes classroom/laboratory work and clinical placement experiences.

  • Four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized university or college.
  • CSD Admission Requirements

    Additional Requirements

    Before applying or accepting an offer of admission to the School of CSD, applicants should be aware of the following:

    • The Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology fields are two-years (6 term), full-time, and in-person.
    • Students must obtain and complete all mandatory immunizations, vaccinations, medical and non-medical requirements specified by Western University, the School of CSD, and other clinical facilities.
    • Students must obtain, pay for, and submit documentation of a police Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) as required by clinical placement facilities.
    • Students are encouraged to have a strong foundation in math, anatomy and physiology, and science prior to applying to the MClSc in Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate degree program.
    • Students must attend and pay for all costs associated with the clinical placements assigned to them. Placements may not be in a student’s hometown and/or home province.

    Applicants whose first language is not English must furnish evidence of their proficiency in the use of the English language:

    Applicants who are required to present evidence of proficiency in English must make their own arrangements to complete one of the above tests or programs and to have the official results sent directly to SGPS by the testing agency.
