    About

    Studying Computer Science will provide you with a foundation in software design and development combined with an understanding of computing theory. You will study databases, design of algorithms, parallel programming, and more. This background will prepare you to work collaboratively in a wide variety of fields including games, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software engineering.

    Entry Requirements

    For qualitative purposes, SAP requires a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0. Undergraduate student GPAs are reviewed annually, normally in May after spring grades have been posted, to evaluate eligibility for federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, loans and work programs. Note: Some degree programs may have higher GPA and credit requirements for students to maintain program eligibility. Students should consult the program description in the catalog for requirements of their individual programs.

    Career

    Recent graduates have been hired by Financial Partners Inc., CIGNA, United Healthcare, United Technologies, Mass Mutual, Liberty Mutual, and more. Others attend graduate school, including a graduate who was awarded a $30,000 annual stipend to study at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Alumni of the program have worked on President Obama's first campaign website, coded underwater autonomous robots, served as project manager for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, worked as senior software engineer for General Dynamics Information Technology, worked as a developer for MassMutual, and worked as a programmer/analyst for United Bank of Scotland.
