Entry Requirements
You should aim to achieve 96 UCAS points including a minimum of CC at A level or equivalent (e.g.MM at BTEC Diploma; MPP at BTEC Extended Diploma) towards the total tariff.
Access Students can can achieve the requirements with a combination of Distinction, Merit and Pass grades at level 3 achieved from a completed Access course.

D12-M21-P12; D9-M27-P9; D6-M33-P6;
D3-M39-P3; D0-M45-P0
Five GCSEs at grade 4 (or C) or above (or recognised equivalents), including Maths and English Language, are also required.
International Students
The University is not licensed by the UK Government to sponsor migrant students under the Student route and is therefore unable to accept applications from international students at present.

If you would like to apply to Newman University, then you can follow the seven steps below:
Step 1: Select the course from the Find Your Course page that you wish to apply for and click apply now.
Step 2: for full-time undergraduate courses you will be directed to the UCAS application portal (if you do not already have a UCAS account you will need to create one online) – for part-time and postgraduate (not PGCE) courses you will be linked to apply directly to Newman through the MyNewman platform. For PGCE courses you will need to apply through the Department for Education.
Step 3: Once your application has been received you will then receive a reply on whether an offer has been made. This might be a Conditional Offer (awaiting results or other entry requirements) or an Unconditional Offer.
Step 4: Once you have received your offer from Newman University it is time to decide what you would like to do. You can accept your offer if applying directly, or if applying through UCAS you can accept an offer by choosing ‘Firm Acceptance’ or for insurance choices choose ‘Insurance Acceptance’.
Step 5: If you have a Conditional Offer you must ensure that you provide Newman University with the outstanding conditions as soon as possible for your place to be confirmed.
Step 6: Once your place is confirmed you will receive communications from Newman University’s Admissions Team with instructions on how to enrol at Newman.
Step 7: You will then be ready to become a Newman University student!

DfE Apply is the new platform for PGCE Teacher Training applications. From September 12, 2021, you will need to search for our courses on the Department for Education website and submit an application form. Please note, you will still apply to undergraduate Teacher Training courses via UCAS.
