    About

    The Cond Nast Diploma course provides a learning environment that will introduce you to the fundamentals of fashion communication.

    The course aims to develop your understanding and knowledge of the fashion and related media industries, and to study a range of topics that include:

    • The Context of Fashion & The Fashion System
    • Fashion Media
    • Fashion Marketing & Promotion
    • Branding & Brand Identity Design
    • Image-making & Visual Communication
    • Fashion Retailing & Retail Environments

    The Cond Nast Diploma qualification will provide you with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills needed to prepare you, either for further study in higher education, or for employment in fashion or a related sector.

    The Cond Nast Diploma in Fashion Communication is designed for those who wish to learn more about the fashion industry and can act as a springboard to further education, to start a career in the fashion industry, or for professionals who might want to explore new avenues for a potential career change. The course works through the integral elements of the Fashion Communications industry shedding light on what the fashion industry has to offer.

    Our Diploma in Fashion Communication is being validated by the University of Buckingham.

    The course offers a unique blend combining academic rigour and industry engagement with practical and professional skills acquisition, drawing on the expertise of Cond Nast Publications and the College's wide network of industry professionals.

    You are encouraged to develop their understanding of how the fast-paced and ever-changing fashion and media industries operate, and to consider your potential future role within these industries.

     

    The programme's key aims are to:

    • Introduce students to the culture and context of the fashion industry
    • Develop students' knowledge of the fashion and media industries
    • Introduce students to the key theory and industry practices relevant to fashion media, marketing, promotion, branding and communication
    • Provide opportunities for students to learn from professionals within the fashion, media and associated industries  
    • Provide opportunities for students to develop key transferable skills in research and analysis, creative thinking, communication, and the production of creative and strategic outputs
    • Enable each student to consider their potential path within the fashion industry or continuing study, and to leave with a portfolio of work.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Students must be aged at least 18 years old on 31st August at the start of the academic year in which they intend to join this course. An academic year runs 1st September-31st August annually. For the duration of the academic year, a student is considered to be their academic age for admissions purposes, regardless of when their birthday falls within that academic year.

    The standard entry requirements for this course are:

    • Aged 18 years or older on the first day of the course
    • A level or an equivalent EU / international qualification or
    • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C (4) or
    • Relevant professional experience

    The College also accepts equivalent qualifications, such as BTEC and International Baccalaureate Diploma qualifications; the preferred International Baccalaureate (IB).

    Cond Nast College students who have completed a Foundation Programme can also apply for this course.

    Completion of a Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art & Design or Art, Design & Media) also fulfills the entry requirements.

    Career

    The aim of the Foundation Programme is to help students prepare for further study in higher education.

    If they are successful, students on the Foundation Programme can go on to study our BA (Hons) Fashion Communication degree, previous graduates of which are now working at companies such as Vogue, Glamour, Net-A-Porter, Cond Nast International, Harvey Nichols and many other leading businesses in the fashion and luxury sectors.

    How to Apply

    1. Obtain Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) from the admissions office after receiving your offer, but no more than 6 months before the course start date. 
    2. Complete Student Visa application form online, (if you plan to apply from within the UK, check to make sure you are eligible
    3. Pay immigration health surcharge and application fee
    4. Book a biometric appointment at a visa application centre (to get a biometric residence permit) as part of your application
    5. Attend biometrics appointment (scan and upload your documents before the appointment)
    6. Attend credibility interview (if asked to do so)
    7. Home Office will contact you with a decision (often within three weeks, but visa processing times vary by country)
    8. If your visa is refused, please contact the admissions team at [email protected] and attach your visa refusal letter
    9. Collect your biometric residence permit (BRP) within 10 days of your arrival in the UK (or, if you applied within the UK, your BRP will be posted directly to you).
