The BA (Hons) Contemporary Music, Performance and Production course has been developed to include a number of interrelated, core themes of study. We believe these will enable graduates to be best prepared for work in a huge number of roles within the music industry and beyond and will help students to develop high academic standards. This new course continues Loughborough College’s proud tradition of delivering higher education music programmes in a college environment. The course aims to create highly employable graduates, who enjoy exploring music in a multitude of ways, whilst being agile, creative thinkers who rise to challenges they are faced with. Entry Requirements
UCAS Tariff - 64 points
A2 or equivalent, (e.g BTEC Extended Diploma), preferably to include music, music technology or other music related subjects.
• Recent study of relevant Access/Foundation course, with audition.
• Applicants are invited to attend an audition and submit of a portfolio. The portfolio can take the form of web links to both composition and performance work. These are both diagnostic tools to help inform the application process.
• Applicants with appropriate life experience but without the standard entry requirements are encouraged to apply and will be considered on their individual merits, based on the interview and completed application.
• Alternatively, applicants may be able to gain entry to Level 4 or advanced entry to Level 5 based on the evidence of other qualifications or learning. In this case, Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) or Accreditation of Prior Certified Learning (APCL) may be possible.
