The skills you’ll learn in the process of earning your English degree people are necessary in nearly all professions. Your choice of career is limited to only your imagination.The Creative and Professional Writing program of the Bemidji State University also prepares you for graduate study for a Master of Arts in English or a Master of Fine Arts in Writing. Our graduates have been accepted in many MFA programs including those at Bowling Green State University, Notre Dame University, the Iowa Writers Workshop, Rutger’s University, Emerson University and, of course, Bemidji State.Steps to the BFA DegreeTalk to your advisor about your interest in the BFA Writing program.Plan your studies according to your interests.     The Creative and Professional Writing program of the Bemidji State University is one of only 15 BFA’s in writing in the United States. In 2006, it won the MnSCU award for excellence in academic programming. More than half of Bemidji State English majors are now studying for this degree.
