    About

The BA (Hons) Criminology is built upon the investigation, analysis and evaluation of the social, cultural, economic and environmental causes of crime and criminal behaviour. During the programme you will explore contemporary criminological theory and research that seeks to explain the existence of crime through the identification and examination of criminogenic and circumstantial factors and pressures. You will investigate crimes of the powerful and powerless; explore the causes and effects of violent criminal behaviour; analyse the intersecting aspects of gender, ethnicity and crime, and evaluate the extent to which individual, social and cultural consequences result from particular forms of formal intervention. The BA (Hons) Criminology will also give you a range of practical, academic, creative, managerial and technical skills.
