In this MA degree programme, you will investigate contemporary cultures of the Global South with a focus on social and political dynamics and from the vantage point of comparative transregional studies. The programme is international, interdisciplinary, and intercultural in orientation and has a strong emphasis on research as well as on building bridges between theory and professional practice.
The programme deals with thematic complexes such as colonialism and postcolonialism, migration and mobility, transculturalism and globalisation. Among the disciplines involved in teaching the programme are literary, cultural, and media studies along with cultural anthropology, education, and other related social sciences.

Entry Requirements
The minimum admission requirement for the MA Cultures of the Global South is a BA in literary or cultural studies or social sciences with the final grade of 2.5 / 2nd class honours / B or better. Additionally, applicants must provide evidence of language proficiency (see language requirements).
