    Bachelor of Arts in Dance

    The Kennesaw State University Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance is offered by the College of the Arts in Kennesaw, Georgia.  You can choose a dance concentration in one of the following areas:

    • Ballet
    • Modern Dance

    The dance degree is a liberal arts degree and will provide you with a diverse and comprehensive curriculum.  The core curriculum will prepare you with a theoretical and practical experience of dance, while your 15-hour concentration offers the opportunity to develop your technical proficiency. When you graduate from the dance program, you'll be prepared for various career options in dance and other related fields.

    You will have the opportunity to receive three credits in applied professional skills from internships to practical experience in the field. The senior seminar and senior project requirements ensure that you gain a creative and scholarly understanding of the art form, emphasizing a scholar-artist approach central to the Department's educational mission.

    The Bachelor of Arts in Dance degree program fosters an environment of creative and scholarly learning. Partnerships with professional dance and art organizations provide a variety of practical performance experiences for dance students in the community. Collaborative learning with professional artists and scholars will help propel you into the profession while you are actively developing skills as a dance artist.

    Entry Requirements

    GPA Requirement 

    Graduation from high school with GPA of 2.5 with qualifying SAT/ACT test scores

    (If educated outside of the United States, the required official evaluation
    must indicate GPA)

    First-Year Student Announcement:

    First-year students applying to Kennesaw State University for the Summer, and Fall 2023 semesters may be admitted without an ACT or SAT score if they have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

    * Students who have a GPA of less than 3.2 should submit official ACT or SAT scores along with their high school transcript to be considered for admission. 

    *For students who were educated outside the United States, the GPA must be reflected on the official evaluation (see requirements below). Kennesaw State will review the official evaluation.

    **Being exempt from SAT/ACT does not guarantee that students are also exempt from the English proficiency requirement if they are citizens of non-English speaking countries (see the Validation of English Proficiency section below).

    Note: Test scores are still required for some scholarships (e.g. Zell Miller) and programs (e.g. Architecture).
