    Overview They enroll in a four-term sequence in dance composition, with additional opportunities to participate in the creation of their own dances, as well as working as dancers in the creation of new works by faculty members and visiting artists. Further, they engage in a core of four courses in the study of scholarly discourse around the body and dance, launching a critical inquiry into their own study of bodily practices, internalization of the embodied experience, and how bodily ideas and embodied experiences are interpreted and communicated outwardly an interpersonally, both locally and globally.All students take a set of courses as preparation for the Dance major that focus on the integration of dance and critical analysis. For students who transfer into the major, depending on the year of entry and prior coursework, lower-division preparatory coursework may be waived or substituted. When students enter the major, they continue their studies of dance technique, composition, and analysis, and they also enroll in a primary and secondary research area.Learning OutcomesThe Dance program of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has the following learning outcomes:Choreography of dances in various settings, cultural contexts, and media, with emphasis on progressive approachesCreative problem-solving of issues tied to arts and activism, dance-making, and producing in multiple formats, in an intercultural and interdisciplinary contextThink critically about the relationship between aesthetics and politics through choreography, written analysis, and multiple research methodsDemonstrated advanced proficiency in at least two movement disciplinesAnalysis of vocabulary, location, and syntax of dance worksAnalysis of political, cultural, and historical implications of dance worksDemonstrated ability to understand and implement collaboration in an art-making practiceWritten and oral recognition and synthesis of key concepts in critical dance studies I want to find another Bachelor Course
    The Dance program of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) thoroughly integrates learning to dance, learning to make dances, and critical interrogation of dance as a cultural practice. Students study a variety of dance techniques from around the world throughout their studies.
