    Digital Currencies and Blockchain Technology This course covers the fundamentals of Bitcoin and blockchain technology. It is divided into four parts: 1. Basics of Bitcoin 2. Practical introduction 3. Basics of blockchain technology 4. Basics of innovation Understand the fundamental technology components of Bitcoin, the process of currency issuance, proof-of-work, and how the blockchain is structured Understand digital currency transactions and how to create wallets, be able to acquire bitcoins and conduct transactions from a wallet, and understand the risks and options in keeping the coins reasonably safe Understand alternative cryptocurrencies as well as more advanced uses of the blockchain – including smart contracts Understand the basics of innovation and why and to what extent Bitcoin (and blockchain) can be viewed as a disruptive innovation
