Overview The candidates of the Elementary Education program of Oklahoma Baptist University receive a firm grounding in the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to assist the learning of children in grades 1-8. The elementary education faculty stresses the importance of teaching the whole child, morally and spiritually, as well as academically.What makes an OBU Elementary Education degree special?As an elementary education major, you are provided instruction within a Christian context in preparation for a global perspective of education. Therefore, as an OBU elementary education graduate, you will be highly sought for your teaching expertise.What are OBU grads doing with their Elementary Education degrees?Most teach in public schools in the Oklahoma/Texas area; however, we have grads teaching around the globe in almost all 50 states—Russia, China, Hong Kong, Africa, Mexico, to name a few. Some grads use their degree as the stepping-stone to grad school, seminary, or mission work.
