Engineering Sciences

Dartmouth AB candidates who major in engineering sciences learn to synthesize concepts from many fields and also have the opportunity to specialize in a chosen area. They can join multidisciplinary research teams and collaborate with faculty and graduate students. AB candidates who also plan to pursue the BE and are interested in specific engineering fields can use a variety of sample programs as models when designing their individual programs. Students can also choose to complement a major in another discipline with a minor in Engineering Sciences.

• Application Fee Application Fee

  The fee associated with submitting an application for admission to Dartmouth. The first-year application fee is $80. The transfer application fee is $90.

  If paying the application fee would cause unusual financial hardship for you or your family, you may be eligible for a waiver. Requesting a fee waiver will not disadvantage your candidacy in any way.

• Dartmouth Writing Supplement Writing Supplement

  The writing supplement includes questions specific to Dartmouth that help the Admissions Committee gain a better sense of how Dartmouth and you might be a good "fit" for each other.

• Secondary School Report Secondary School Report

  The Secondary School Report is a form completed by the applicant's school counselor that provides Dartmouth with an overview of the applicant's academic record.

  A written statement, completed by the applicant's school counselor, that addresses the applicant's academic performance, extracurricular engagements, and personal character.

• Two Teacher Evaluations Teacher Evaluation

  A written statement, completed by an instructor from an academic course, that addresses the applicant's academic performance, engagement with subject matter and classmates, and personal character.

• SAT SAT

  Published by the College Board, the SAT is a college admissions test which includes questions addressing three broad areas of knowledge: reading, writing, and mathematics.

  The ACT is a college admissions test which includes questions addressing five broad areas of knowledge: English, mathematics, reading, science, and writing.
