Overview Additionally, when combined with another business major, this major will help a student develop an entrepreneurial perspective relevant to any field. The Entrepreneurship Management minor at Drake University will be particularly applicable to students in Pharmacy/HS, Arts and Journalism that have an entrepreneurial interest. Students learn the process for new product or service concept generation, feasibility analysis and implementation and gain understanding in the leadership and management qualities of entrepreneurs.The major requires 28 credits. Entrepreneurial Management majors usually take psychology, accounting, economics and an Entrepreneurship seminar in their first year. Additional courses in the major will begin with the sophomore year. This is a cross-disciplinary major. Beyond Entrepreneurship courses, students take relevant courses in managing operations, promotions and sales, and business law. The major is capped with an entrepreneurship course called “Creating a Company”, taken in the senior year.Internships & Opportunities Paid internships opportunities are usually available during the school year and summer. Internships help students gain valuable on-the-job experience and a competitive edge in today’s market. A number of internships are usually available with organizations in the Des Moines area.
