Youll learn from world-leading academics and policy shapers whose expert insights give you fresh perspectives on the craft of governing, from policy evaluation to conflict resolution. Study fits seamlessly around your professional and personal life wherever you are in the world. Modules are delivered online for flexibility, complemented by 4 face-to-face teaching periods / residencies over the 2 years. We put a strong emphasis on applying learning to real-world situations, so your new-found expertise will be immediately relevant to achieving your goals and developing your career. Youll also benefit from sharing experiences with your peers on residencies at international policy centres, in London and Geneva. Applicants to this EMPA will bring with them a wealth of previous expertise. The minimum requirements are 2:1 degree (or equivalent professional experience) and 5+ years of relevant experience. This approach ensures our EMPA cohorts can utilise and share their holistic professional expertise and experience, whilst cultivating an exceptional network of peers to draw on both during their studies and throughout their on-going careers. Weve designed the EMPA to empower you to make a difference, giving you research insights and analytical skills, as well as understanding the practical application in the real world. After the course, youll be ready for the next phase of your career. Youll know how to improve the craft of policy making and make a difference to communities locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Explore the craft of governing with support from world-class teaching from King's academics and international policy practitioners
  • A blended programme of study to achieve EMPA in 2 years without taking a break from your career
  • Visit and learn within key public sector institutions through short residencies in the UK, and in Geneva where you'll be hosted by the United Nations System Staff College, a strategic partner of ISfG
  • Learn flexibly and curate your own tailored curriculum with a choice from a wide range of elective online modules
  • Focus on upskilling and understanding the craft of governing with modules as diverse as Empathy and Emotion in Policymaking, to International Trade
  • Hone your knowledge and technical skills to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of policies in your own sector and organisation

    Postgraduate taught courses

    Applicants who have completed a Bachelor degree from a recognised institution in Jordan will need to demonstrate the following grades to be considered for a Postgraduate course at King's:

    UK degree classification Jordanian equivalency

    High 2:1 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree

    (equivalent to 65% overall)

    GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0

    Overall score of 80%

    2:1 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree

    GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0

    Overall score of 75%

    High 2:2 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree

    GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0

    Overall score of 70%

    A Master's degree from a recognised university with high grades considered for programmes requiring a UK Master's degree.

    English Program Requirements
