    About

    Foundation year courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It’s entirely unique, and a great stepping stone to our BA (Hons) Filmmaking course.

    You’ll focus on professional and creative development in a variety of formats including narrative, documentary, independent short film and the feature film. You will also explore the theoretical aspects of Film language and its influence on modern production techniques, its historical context and philosophical underpinnings.

    Diploma from a technical / vocational or health college / institute with a GPA of 2.0/5 or 60-64%

    Successful completion of on year of appropriate study at a recognised KSA university with a GPA 2.5/5 (65-69%)

    English Program Requirements

    • IELTS: grade 6.0 with no subscore lower than 5.5

    Studying BA (Hons) Filmmaking with Foundation Year could lead to a career in film production, post-production, management, screenwriting or production design.

    The course offers excellent opportunities, with students employed on a variety of productions both during and immediately after graduation. There are many chances to work on real productions across the North of England and further afield.
