    First Year Engineering Core Program

    About

At Lassonde, you get the best of both worlds – discover your passion with exposure to all our engineering disciplines in our foundation year or, if you already know what you want, lock-in your specialization with our Engineering Program Guarantee, part of our optional Boost co-application.

Whatever option you choose, you will join our common Engineering foundation year, and specialization courses begin in your second year. When you apply to Lassonde, your application would be to “Engineering” only. However, you can secure a spot in your preferred Engineering program before you accept your offer of admission.

If you change your mind about your program during your first year, or if you aren’t sure now which Engineering program you are most interested in – that’s ok – we guarantee that some of the spaces in each program will be available for students to choose after their first year. You can apply to change programs for your second year. Our Boost co-application allows you to indicate your choices for the Engineering Program Guarantee process. We will send you a personalized link to access the co-application after you apply.

All engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Co-op is available for all streams and is optional.

The accreditation process for new BEng Mechatronics program will start in 2027 prior to the graduation of the first batch.
